I've been neglecting this blog. Mostly because of this guy.
He's changing everyday. The hubs was on a four-day business trip and came back remarking how much bigger he was and how much more personality he had.
Bigger? Yes. According to my non-accurate scale, Henry weighs 12 pounds explaining my constant neck and back ache. He's growing more rapidly than my muscles. We worked hard for that growth, though. The six-week spurt hit and we had two days of HELL. Thankfully I was with my parents who did a lot of holding, shushing, swaying, begging and singing.
Now the boy is clusterfeeding less and smiling a lot. This morning I was doing some work and glanced down to see a full-faced grin looking back at me. When I kiss his lips, he smiles back.
We took him to a four-hour football game with a wild crowd, most of which he slept through. We even took three two-hour car rides with no screaming. Be still my heart!
This morning I got two projects designed for work, washed diapers, chased one of our cats around the yard who had manged to escape and drank 1/4 cup of coffee before it got cold.
Dare I say there is hope in sight?
He's a very very beautiful baby. Thank you for sharing your journey (even through the tears). I bet that full faced smile just melted your heart. GB and many prayers continue to come your way!
ReplyDeleteErrgh... I'm going through the 6 week growth spurt right now. Sleep? What sleep? But your little man is just adorable! And don't those smiles just melt your heart? Christian has just started smiling lots and lots the past week.
ReplyDeleteQuestion: you're a runner, and I'm a runner too. Been dying to get out there, but just taking walks for now. I think I read that you have the BOB? How is that working for you? Are you using the infant carseat converter? We're just now starting to look at joggers, so I was curious how it's been working out with a little one. But the pictures with the infant carseat attached to it kinda scare me.
You have every right to neglect us. he is adorable and I am so glad you are blessed with a healthy baby! Enjoy your newborn!
ReplyDeleteAmber - I love the Bob. LOVE. At first I was a little intimidated because of how massive it is but now I am used to it. It folds up nicely and easily once you do it once or twice. We have the infant car seat converter for our Graco seat. It snaps in tightly and the has a strap that fastens as as second safety so I don't feel like it's unsafe at all. The front wheel locks (on the Revolution) so you can run on a trail and not have it dart off when you hit a rock or crack but it also unlocks like a normal stroller that makes it easier to steer. Highly recommend it!
